Three cops started misbehaving with duty emergency medical officer and beat him up.

Summary:

One shocking incident was happen at emergency ward of government hospital Gorakhpur, when Dr Rakesh Kumar emergency medical officer was beat and abused by three police officers at emergency ward of hospital. A group of doctors lodged FIR against three cops at city police station.

 

A.    Brief facts of case:

 

1.                              According to Dr Rakesh Kumar :

 

a)      Mr Durgesh Pathak police constable, who was posted at Dohrighat in Mau district, met with an accident in Sahjanwa was shifted to emergency of government hospital Gorakhpur by ambulance.

b)      Mr Durgesh Pathak, was in uniform, came in an inebriated state and had some injuries.

c)      Mr Durgesh Pathak got into an argument with Dr Rakesh Kumar emergency medical officer at government hospital and misbehaved with him.

d)     Dr Rakesh Kumar informed Mr Anjani Kumar SI at city police station and other policemen about incident.

e)      SI Anjani Kumar reached hospital along with Constable Mr Manoj Chowdhary in drunken state and both of them also started misbehaving with Dr Rakesh Kumar and beat him up.

 

2.            According to Dr R K Gupta Chief Superintendent of the hospital:

 

a)      A group of doctors registered FIR against all three police officer at city police station under different sections of IPC.

 

b)      Work has been restricted at the OPD of the hospital till arrest of all accused.

 

c)      Police has given assurance of action against the accused.

 

 

3.    According to Mr Shalabh Mathur Senior Superintendent of Police :

 

a)      Mr Durgesh Pathak has been sent to jail.

 

b)      While as action will be taken against other cops after a departmental probe.
